Are ignorant and brave,
And you have wars you hardly win
And souls you hardly save.'

The ballad of the white horse

Even though my 'official' year with Chesterton ended yesterday, I picked up this work of poetry today to get some taste of it. A few hours later I was finished and highly impressed: I have not enjoyed a work of poetry this much in at least ten years.
The poem reminded me somehow of Tolkien's Middle-Earth: a time of heraldry and courage, a time of faith, a time of battle.
